Catholic Means Universal

These days lots of people are turning to the Episcopal Church because this church has been brave enough to say – We are Catholic.

Catholic means universal, ALL WELCOME.

Episcopal Beliefs

Good News For You.
Episcopalians are part of a world-wide Catholic Church called the Anglican Communion. We are the English Catholic Church in America. Here in Las Vegas, Christ Church’s Spanish Mission building looks a lot like a traditional Roman Catholic Church. So does the worship you will encounter here. The Mass includes ancient chants, incense, and bells.
The Good News for you is that you get to work out your own salvation in fear and trembling; no one will tell you what to do. You will receive thoughtful approaches on
how to live life on life’s terms and how ancient tradition helps us understand the present.

At the end of the day, you get to make up your own mind about it all. This kind of
freedom is not always welcome, but the Episcopal Church is where you get it.

- Everyone welcome

- Traditional worship

- Come and break bread

- Abundant Good News of God

All Welcome.
Everyone who can hear God’s call to come and break bread in this place is welcome. Even if you don’t hear God’s voice, you are still welcome.

No dues or fees; no hoops to jump through. Just the abundant Good News of God for everyone.

Decency.
Episcopalians care for decency and order in living, so the structure of the ancient Faith is important to us. You will find that it is designed to set you free for an adventure with God.

The Bible is the Word of God.
While the Episcopal Church believes that the Bible is the Word of God, we are pretty sure the words themselves come from God’s children and servants in the past. This means that God’s children and servants today are allowed, even required, to think about what these ancient texts call us to do today.

Holy Tradition.
The same is true about the Creeds and other ancient formularies from the holy tradition. These gifts from the past root us in the tradition and form us for a future in God. God calls us to all sorts of things in service to God’s world.
