FAQ's


1. How does a person join the Episcopal Church?
If you are baptized you are already a member of Christ’s One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of which the Episcopal Church is a franchise. You are already in. If you want to consider yourself part of Christ Church, Las Vegas, just call or write us and say so. If you want to learn more about what all this means, let the clergy know and we will be happy to meet with you to make that exploration more personal.

2. How much money do I have to give?
As much as God calls you to give. Many of our parishioners give 10% of their income to their church. All of us receive direction to make a gift to God’s church which is based on a proportion of what God has allowed us to have.

3. Can I receive communion?
If you hear God call you to come and eat, please do. Even if you are not sure if your hear God call you come to the altar, try it anyway. God wants you close to God and it is in Holy Communion that we who are God’s children draw near as God feeds us.

4. What should I wear to church?
Whatever helps you worship God. Sometimes the air conditioning works too well. It is a primitive system so dress accordingly.

5. Where are the parish offices?
The church owns the buildings to the left of the Church and Courtyard across the parking lot. The Christ Church offices are in the first building to the left rear of the parking lot as you face it from Maryland Parkway.

6. Who's in charge?
The Episcopal Church has representative government. At the Annual Meeting members are elected to the Vestry which with the rector oversees the life of the parish. The Rector is in charge of the staff.
